Histogram and Levels tool don't show same profile
In Capture One V. 6, before any corrections are applied, the profiles of R, B and G values are identical in the Levels tool and in the histogram. In V 7, there are notable differences between the two distributions, which are very disturbing for users who do not only rely on the image shown on screen but also on the shape of histograms.
One specially confusing difference concerns low values. In Levels the curve may go down to zero at the left end of the profile but show major clipping in the histogram, as if there was some function in the background, which sets additional contrast in the low end of the spectrum.
None of the available tools does allow to correct for that discrepancy.
This discrepancy survives through the whole adjustment process.
I did not include any examples, since everybody can experiment with his own pictures. The camera is a Canon 5DII.
It would be interesting to know whether this is a bug or the expression of a new development concept.
