Date on JPEG
I automatically file my photo's by date (using CAM2PC) so I can easily find them.
However, when I convert files to JPEG's in Capute One the date on the exported file is always the date of conversion, and not the date the picture was taken.
The Canon software, on the other hand, retains the original picture taken date after conversion.
Is it possible to do this in Capture One?
I use a canon 350D.

After doing some investigation I still do not understand your post.
The test I did:
Image from 350D, EXIF capture date 2007-07-05
File developed to JPG in Capture One 3.7.1 and DPP 1.6.1
File creation date 2005-09-08 on both file (Ofcourse when this is OS creation date)
Open Images in PhotoShop and check file info: Both files says 2005-07-05 in Date Time(Camera Data 1).
Please inform if there is anything I am missing out on.0 -
Thanks for looking into this.
I know that the EXIF data keeps the right 'photo taken' date. However, the file creation date for the JPEG (if you look at it in Windows Explorer) is the date the conversion took place.
I realise that normally this would be okay, after all the JPEG was created on that date.
However, many conversion programmes (including Canon's own) retain the original file created date, and when the JPEG is created, apply it to the JPEG (so it looks as if the JPEG was created on the day the photo was taken).
This is incredibally useful if you are automatically filing photo's by the file date.
Is there a way of achieving this with the Phase One software?0 -
I find it very hard to believe this and my test (DPP 1.6.1) it does not do this.
I would suggest that get a phot archiving program that support Meta data acording to industry standard, i believe iView do.0
