are you working with catalog? I think so and where is your catalog saved? Maybe on network drive?

Capture One has SQLite Database and if the queue (journal) is full, then its needed to write all changes to the database. If your catalog is saved on network drive it can be take a long time.

The catalog and all images are on two different SSD and I do not see any kind of hard disk activity during the delay.

Do you have XMP sync turned on, and is that the cause of your trouble?

Good point but I have turned off all XMP syncing as C1P had messed up when syncing several times.
