color coding malfunction
When i assign purple to an image, sometimes several unrelated images will also have that color code, even though I only had 1 selected. Any idea why? thanks.

Did you really have only one selected, or were several selected but only one on screen at that time because you were not using multi-view?

I'm pretty sure it is only 1 selected Ian because i rarely use multi-screen. I don't notice it until after the fact so I'll have to watch more closely. 0 -

I don’t mean multi-screen. But it is possible to have several images selected and only one visible in the viewer. View>Customize Viewer>Multi View Mode. Apologies if I’m telling you stuff you know perfectly well.

Not at all Ian, i always appreciate & learn from yr replies. Now that i think of it, if i select more than 1 image & assign a color code, it only applies to the primary image, not any others, unless I am doing it incorrectly. 0 -

For it to apply to more than one of the selected images, and not just to the primary one, you need to have selected to edit selected variants rather than just edit primary variant. It's toggled on and off with a button on the toolbar (looks like three stacked rectangles) or via the Image menu.

Right, I forgot. I did come up with a workaround - just use a keyboard shortcut for no color code & it's easy to fix any that are inadvertently coded incorrectly, whatever the cause. 0
