Mmm... no one seems to know?
Thought / hoped that the Healing and Clone feature would be superiour to the free Gimp software?

You haven't actually asked a question: "does not work properly" and "I have difficulties..." gives us nothing to work on.

    Hi Keith.

I did: "it starts after some brushing cloning objects which I just have healed."

    Hi,
just for clearing this, but as far as my (reduced) experiences with the healing tool go I'm using for each object to remove a separate layer since brush strokes, direction and desired effect differ normally. So no interference between different corrective steps.

    Frans,

Healing works using the relative positions of the selection from which the healing data is chosen and the area to be healed and starts from the base image on the first layer.

It does not allow you to select and area and then dot it around in different places. There are some benefits to the approach and some that are less beneficial but it all depends on what you are trying to heal.

If you need more than one "healing relationship" in terms of relative position you need to use additional layers - at least as far as things are developed so far.

As for changing your user name - you should be able to do that through access to your account as far as I know but as I have never had the need to do it (the naming was working Ok at the time I signed up) I'm not sure exactly how.

    HTH.

    Thanks Grant,

    First some technical questions:
With every layer I get: New Repair Layer. Repair layers require a newer processing engine. The processing can be upgraded using the Base Characteristics tool.
    It does not stay upgraded.

Where do you place the orange circle in the brushed area or doesn't matter, just in the mask?

Instead of a circle brush for masking, not a square one possible?

I hope you can give some hints to heal 2 complicated situations.
The reflection in the mirror and the sensor in the corner of the ceiling.
    Thanks in advance!
    Frans

    Hi Frans,

My first reaction is that With everything that is going on in that image, especially the reflection in the mirror and the general wide angle distortion, I think you would need to take that into Photoshop or a similar program to fix the things you want to fix.

However others may disagree with me and suggest a way to do what you want to do easily so I will be interested to see what is suggested.

It would be an interesting skills challenge to see what can be done for the problems you need fixed. I am on the road this weekend from tomorrow and preparing for the trip today so I will leave the immediate answers to others.

As for the technical question - is the image one that has been previously processed in an earlier version of C1?

Normally once you have changed the "Engine" (I usually create a new Variant so that I can compare the differences and always get back to the original version quickly if I want to for some reason) it will stay changed.

The Orange circle is a marker for the start point of the mask drawing. If you move it the mask moves. Hover the cursor over it and you will see some additional positioning controls that can be used.

A square brush is not available. However if you wish to make complete cut-off lines with sharp edges just draw the mask as required (probably 100% opacity) and then change to a delete brush with 100% opacity and delete to get your straight line and sharp cut off.

    HTH.

    Hi Grant,

I am very pleased if you give it a try, when you have the time to do so.

Nothing wrong with the picture. It's a fisheye image and a part of:

No the image and C1 version 8 update are new.

Straight line? Can you draw straight lines? E.g. with CTRL in aother programs?

    Frans,

No there is nothing wrong with the picture - just that there are a number of complex things involved with trying to deliver a fix for the things you want to fix. In effect there is really nowhere obvious to use as a source to patch the areas you want to change as far as I can tell.

If the image is new and the C1 version has not changed since it was first visited with C1 then I cannot immediately think of a reason for the message about the "New Processing Engine". What does the tool display for the current engine identification?

As far as I know you cannot draw straight lines with CTRL but then perhaps there is no need unless one is drawing shapes or performing graphics type image chopping and that is not what C1 currently offers.

(Actually, looking at your fish-eye image .... is there a straight line in it? 😉 )

I would think there will be a video somewhere that discusses these things and, probably, a webinar recording too. (Guidance about which webinar and whereabouts in the recording might be of interest to you is not something I have instantly available - but someone else may know.)

    HTH.

Thanks Grant, than I misunderstood 'wide angel distortion.'

Straight lines can be in an angel too 😊

Did not find usefull guidance, so if somenone can help me there?

    Thanks so far Grant!

Gimp goes a long way with:
    Saturation -100
    Layer with Grain Merge
Layer with brown over the spot
    Levels input 32

Tried to copy this with the Color Editor, but without result. 🤬
It's not possible to brush a transparent layer with a certain color in C1?!

Who can repair the reflection in the mirror!
