All Raw converters have a different default conversion, Bruno - this is a good thing, because we are able to change the default settings to our preference.
It should be easy to create a much better starting point in Capture One and save it as the default.0 -
thanks but i don't understand "better starting point" ? may you clear that please, thanks 0 -
To add a note, the Canon software applies certain processing parameters like the Picture Style you selected in the camera, which CO6 does not apply.
However in CO6 you can create your own Style (CO Pro) and presets for the respective tool and apply them as your starting point. Perhaps this is what Keith was referring to.0 -
Hi Bruno,
yes, as Paul suggests, I mean that every Raw converter will convert an image a certain way, using a profile created for that camera: if we convert a file without making any changes to the contrast, colour etc. ourselves, that's the default, "starting point" conversion.
Capture One invites us to make the changes we prefer so that the default conversion is better to us, and to save these changes as a new "Style" which can be used as the new default.
It may also be that the Capture One ICC profile simply doesn't look good to you: I use a Canon 7D, and I do not like the 7D profile, so I use the Canon 1D Mk III profile instead.0
