A compliment - for a change ;)
Recently I've been using Capture One a lot more than usual for converting images to B&W and have found that I've been getting some superb conversions and am really pleased with it.
During converting an image to B&W I tend to add a higher contrast to the image (colour tab and then Film High Contrast) and then increase the black point slightly followed by an s-curve in the Luma channel.
As I've said before, I could never get such good quality when I was using Lightroom (and still can't) and am so impressed by Capture One.
So a very big thank you to everyone at Capture One; I have no idea how you can constantly improve on perfection but you seem to manage to do so every time there's an update... 😉
I know some of us 'winge' from time to time about Capture One but I don't know of an application as good.

I second that. There are (quite a few) annoying bugs, but the output quality is nothing short of amazing. 😊0 -
I'm really amazed by the contrast and saturation slider change in v9, and the new Luma curve. 0 -
In addition, they have fixed a couple of problems I had reported (difficulty in dragging bottom edge of unconstrained crop and masks not being flipped when an image is flipped vertically).
Also, I have not been able to trigger the OpenCL "CL_MEM_OBJECT_ALLOCATION_FAILURE" problem in v9.1 yet. However, I have been caught out celebrating this too early before, so I will reserve judgement on that one for now 😊
Edit: actually, the problem with dragging the bottom edge of an unconstrained crop has not been fixed at all ☹️
cheers,
