I suggest you (also) report this in a support case to have Phase One take a closer look.

Are you sure you are on 8.1?
Are you sure that there is not something else in the Process Recipe setting that is causing the issue?

This was a limitation but was fixed and in my simple testing just now, I can't reproduce it.

Yes just double checked, I will try to download the newest build from the website and install again.

I just got this reply from support:

    Thank you for contacting us.
We currently have some restrictions using any character outside of the UTF-8 Character Set. We are hoping to improve this in the future as we have had it previously. However new programing for improvements in Capture One 8 requires that this restriction be in place until a workaround can be found.

Thank you for your patience, we hope to improve this in the future.

    Kind Regards,
    Phase One Support

... and I think that reply was provided with the knowledge of the issue in 8.02.
However with 8.1 this was remedied so if it still exists in some regard we need to know what is specific about your workflow to show this error.

    Ok, thats strange!

I tried removing all traces of C1 (also personal settings) and installed it again. I made a new recipe outputting a psd file, when the root folder was "output folder" it went fine but when I changed it to "Image Folder" where I have a sub folder called Develops, it gave me the error again, I think this is because the folder its outputting to has an "æ" in it, the normal output folder doesn't. So this could be why you can't replicate the behaviour, try outputting to the same folder or sub folder of the one with an "æ" in it instead of the output folder.
    I am working with sessions.

Thanks for that. It does seem to be a rather compound problem.
Seems we've fixed the output source with special characters but need to reinvestigate the source naming with special characters when they plays a role as the image folder name and changing the Root.

    Yes, just to clarify:

I choose the folder where my pictures are:

    "Portræt til CD"

and from there I process the psd or tiff to:

    "Portræt til CD" - "Develops"

As I wrote, weirdly enough there are no errors when processing a Jpeg file.

I like to keep all files from a shoot in different folders inside the original shoot folder.
