100% zooming not working on a multiple selection

I think you might be right about the button.

However the Slider (Or the cursor positioned on the slider bar somewhere) used with the shift key does zoom all the selected images.

It might be worth a Support Case to conform whether this an intended change or an omission. It not somtheing I can recall doing - so I have learned some tips looking at the problem just now. Also how many ways there may be for doing the same thing as a GUI develops over several years and iterations!

Thanks for bringing it to my attention.

I am seeing the same effect. In V8 pressing the button while holding down Shift zooms all selected images to 100%. In V9, only the primary selected image is zoomed.

There is another difference. In V8 the button's tooltip says "Zoom 100%" whereas in V9 it says "Increase Zoom" and its behaviour matches that description - it keeps zooming each time you press it.

    Epipactis,

I use shift key and either the mouse wheel (to zoom in /out) or double click (for 100%/fit frame) with v8 too.

I hope v9 has a bug and not an ommitted feature. Do you file a bug ticket with support?

    cheers

Thank you Grant for your response. As I pointed out, the problem is only for the 100% zoom button, not with the mouse wheel and, as you pointed out, it works with the slider. So a workaround for my problem would be to click in the middle of the slider. But it is less convenient than the dedicated button.

Richard, I'm using the french version and the right button's tooltip says "Zoom 100%" in both versions V8 and V9.
Since the french version is not fully translated, I fear that the "Increase zoom" text you mention announce a change in the zoom tool.

For the second point, you're right, it keeps zooming each time you press it, I had noticed that. However, when coming from a small zoom factor, the button allows to go directly to 100% when pressed for the first time, at least for the primary selected image. I can accept the further zoom functionality but not the loss of the multiple zoom.

Ah, BeO, you gave me THE solution ! Thank you very much ! 😄

As mentionned in my initial post, I used Shift key and either the mouse wheel or the button on the right of the zoom slider. I didn't know of the double click, so I've just tried it and it works with the Shift key (with both V8 and V9) ! It allows to toggle between minimal zoom and 100% zoom for a single (without Shift key) or a multiple selection (with Shift key).

I intended to file a support case (if the problem was confirmed by other users) but since the double click is a very simple way to zoom directly, I'm not sure whether it is worth doing so (although it should work). What do you think of it ? Did you try with the double click + shift key and does it work for you ?

Great to hear I could help 😊

I only use v8 and mostly double click and mouse wheel, it is quite handy. I use the slider in the browser. If you think there is a bug with the slider (which I assume from your explanation it is) it would make sense to open a ticket.

OK, I'll try to open a ticket (not familiar with this, I did it some years ago). I really think it's a bug. Not exactly with the slider (zooming by dragging the cursor works fine with multiple selection and the Shift key pressed down) but with the button on the right of the slider (Zoom 100%).

Thanks again for this tip, very convenient indeed. 😊

I don't understand what you mean by "I use the slider in the browser". Maybe I missed something else, a great useful feature ? ❓
    Could you please explain ?

    "(zoom) slider in the browser"

In the Viewer you have the zoom control which consists of a small and a big "head and shoulders portait" icon (button) with a tooltip "Zoom to fit" and "Zoom 100%". In between those icons you have a slider control which you can click and drag to set a few discreet zoom factors.

In the Browser you have the same zoom control. You see the slider control fully if the browser size is big enough eg. if the viewer is hidden, otherwise you only see a "head and shoulders portait" icon which you can click to show the full control. If the full control is shown than the icons are labelled "Smaller" and "larger", which works correctly in v8.

This is indeed a handy feature to control how big your image previews in the brower are shown, or how many.

Create a support ticket: In the menu open item "help" then "Capture One Support", the website opens and left hand side you'll find a link "Tech support".

    cheers

OK, thank you, I did not see it because my browser is in Film mode. The slider appears only in the two other modes (Grid and List).
The Shift key makes no sense for the zoom slider of the browser, because all thumbnails are necessarily the same size. So this slider is not affected by the bug.
