C1 3.7.3 LE Windows problem on new PC

I have been using C1 LE for about a year or so without any problems on my PC(500mzP3) and my laptop (2GH P4). I have just bought a new PC...3.2GH HT and dual core, running Windows XP Media. The problem is the machine stops working before it loads all the pictures into the program(any number above 25-50). I have to shut the program down from the task manager. I have uninstalled it and reinstalled it on two occasions, but with no luck. I cannot use it at all on this new PC. Is the Media part of Windows XP affecting the operation or is there something else. Adobe CS works just fine (and very fast!). I have today downloaded a free copy of Raw shooter essentials and that works just fine........Please help.
