Does not Import PNG Metadata

I am on EM2 2.0.2096 on a windows XP machine. For some reason Expressions does not import any metadata/keywords on PNG files. Anyone else have this problem? Am importing from a network server, not sure that matters or not. I've tried synching the metadata 6 ways from Sunday but to no avail. Also tried rebuilding the item, removing the folder and reimporting. Still nothing imports the metadata.
Is this a bug? Did it NEVER import PNGs?
HELP!

  I was not aware of drawbacks on the PNG format but a short search learned me this: . It's look like PNG and Metadata don't go very well together...

  Thanks for the link. Also tried using Photoshop Script, Image Processor, to convert to small jpegs for importing into EM2 for archiving purposes (filename would be the same other than extension). PNG's with keywords in Bridge converted to JPG did not retain the keywords.
  Might settle for large Tiffs as storage really isn't a problem with a 3TB scalable corporate server.
