Low-Res Rendering in Preview Oriented Wrong
How do I fix this problem?
Everytime I shoot horizontally the image comes in horizontal and everything is fine. When I turn the camera to shoot vertically, the low-res rendering comes in horizontal and then turns vertical when the whole file has loaded. So, there is a period of time that the client and I are looking at the image at the wrong orientation. This is VERY annoying! ☹️
Please help!!!

Hello
It depends. You did not tell us what camera you are using. On some it can handle this but other camera does not have a orientation sensor so there s no way for Capture One to know which way the camera was rotated.0 -
We are shooting with a P45+ on a Hasselblad H2. It is actually periodic. It happens sometimes. For example, this morning we oriented it properly and it was doing the thing I described. I started a new session and the problem is fixed. It's so periodic that it makes me think it's a glitch or the sensor in the back is not working properly.

Hello
If this is the case then of course we should come to the bottom of this.
You can either contact your dealer or us direct at http://support.phaseone.com
When you get a file that displays this then please save it.
Make sure it is a file where you can see that the orientation is wrong and we can analyze the files rotation marker in it.
Keep in mind that It must be a RAW file.0 -
C1 Pro only displays the image in a low-res rendering for as long as it takes for the file to be transfered from the camera to computer, then rotates to the proper orientation. It does not stay that way. How am I going to send you a file of that? Screen shot?
Thank you for such great service in responding quickly!

I think I slightly misunderstood you. I thought you meant the RAW file but it is the low res preview before the full preview is displayed.
In this case there is nothing we can currently do when the software is simply first reading the embedded preview with out orientation to indicate for you that the file was received.
If we would add rotation readout to this it will decrease performance in generating the full file.
So what are we doing instead?
Well what we are working on is Capture One 4.0 and in our bench mark tests we have been able to improved preview generation and processing time with about 300%.
So once Capture One PRO 4 is released this issue will be no more when the fully resolved preview will show up so much quicker.0
