    Matt,

    From the Known Issue List:

MAC and PC : The processed image of a Crop of a FUJI S2, S3 and S5 image is offset 20 pixels upwards. Ref: TT9542 3.7.7.223
    ISSUE DESCRIPTION
The processed image of a Crop of a FUJI S2, S3 and S5 image is offset upwards 20-40 pixels

The Fuji S5 is fully supported in current version 3.7.7 of Capture One, and the Bug will be fixed.
It is Not supported in the current 4.0 Beta, but will be in the Final Release.

All the data from the Fuji CCD is read by Capture One.
The Fuji DSLRs are 6 megapixel cameras.
Images at 12 megapixels have been interpolated.

The only complaints with Capture One is longer processing times.
Capture One reads chip data horizontally, and therefore, with the diagonal sensors, it takes longer to read and therefore longer processing time.

I've also seen issues with using the in-camera Custom WB settings.
This can be avoided by using an in-camera preset for WB and not a Custom setting.
Review Knowledge Base Tips & Tricks article for good WB:

All Fuji shooters I’ve spoken with personally, on Forum, and in Support Cases agree that the best image quality is obtained using Capture One, so they are content with the longer processing time.
... Load the queue to process and go home 😉

I've seen outstanding color from the Fuji cameras, especially with portrait work.
Best of luck with your decision.
    Regards,
    K C

Thank you very much K.C.! Much appreciated!

Part of why I was asking is that I do already use C1 for my Fuji S2 and you're right, the quality is, if not the best, pretty damn near it. In my tests way back when, it certainly had an edge over everything I tried and a certain "je ne sais quoi" from C1 that I liked better.

Of course the S5 has a pretty significantly different layout with the extra "highlight" pixels, so that's why I wanted clarification.

As far as the crop issue - not a huge deal, I usually don't crop in C1. In regards to the 6 mp output - fine by me really. I don't really need much more and if I'm desperate I can always run back to Fuji's included app or interpolate the image in another program.

The speed, well, it's a lot better in the later releases. I'll happily queue it and leave it overnight in any case. It's worth the wait. Done it many times.

And, yes, it's the color that I'm after, so the deed is done - it's on its way from B&H. That is yet another reason I'm posting here, because I don't want to buy HS-V3 after this thing emptied my bank account!

A big thanks again for all the information K.C., very helpful.

Ok, I shouldn't look a gift horse in the mouth, but now that I do in fact have a Fuji S5 I was wondering if someone from Phase One could maybe outline beyond the fact that both S and R photosites are used, how they are used? That is, how they are mixed in by Capture One?

What sort of adjustments actually yield the highlight R pixels being factored in? Adjusting the exposure? Contrast? What adjustment makes them actually get turned on if you follow me?

Also, if this has changed in version 4, how so there (since 4 is ultimately what I'll be using).

If someone were so inclined it would be really handy to know for us Fuji users!

    Thanks in advance.
