Blank Session hang ups!

I want to create a new blank session and when I select select NEW SESSION then BLANK from Template drop down menu, this window does nothing remains active and hangs. click OK or Cancel and nothing happens forcing a relaunce of the application. Is this a bug and why can't I create a blank session? A friend has the same issue. I'm using v3.6.1

  This is known issue which have been logged and should be fixed as soon as possible.
