That's precisely the power of Output Recipes.

john doe- how is it done correctly? i notice that when the dimensions of the recipe do not match that of the image size (crop size), the numeric values in the process summary for the size are displayed in red.

You can create a recipe for each size you need but the issue you may run into is aspect ratio. For example say Facebook needs output as 1280x800 pixels but Instagram wants 1000x1000. Obviously you need different crops for each output so you can't totally automate this process.

Even if you specify a crop size there is still the question about how it is positioned and applied to the image.

For snap shots that may not matter much.

For more serious creative work in the traditional sense it probably does.

dan122,sfa,john doe-after working through all the material i read yesterday and webinars/tutorials and your responses, i think i was finally able to get straight/understand. I believe as long as the original aspect ratio is maintained, multiple recipes can be used simultaneously to resize the image without incidence or cropping. it is when a crop that does not keep the original ratio that the issues arise, such as a square crop. it is with scenarios such as this that the recipe be selected, the crop tool set to output and the image cropped then processed. thanks again to each of you.
