SOS: Trying to tether Canon T2i via iMac C1 version 9
Hi, I am to tether using the following: a brand new iMac Retina 5K MAC OS X, El Capitan; Capture One Pro 9, Canon T2i. I've tethered with this same configuration (different versions I suspect) once before at a workshop. Now I'm home and C1 is not recognizing my camera. Can anyone help me figure out what the problem could be? Thanks in advance!!

Assuming you're using Capture One Pro (not Capture One Express), the best recommendation I have is to check the following: - Canon EOS Utility is NOT running (be sure to disable it, and prevent it from auto launching when you connect the camera).
- All providers are disabled except Canon, in the Capture tab of the Capture One settings window.
- Confirm that you've got a known good USB cable, and if you are using an extension, that it is an active extension cable. the latest iMacs, and MacBook Pros are notorious for extremely low output voltage from the USB and Thunderbolt ports so you may even need to use a powered USB hub in order to maintain a stable connection. (For troubleshooting purposes, first try using a short USB cable though - just to see if you can get things talking before you start going for longer cables).
If all else fails, submit a support request directly to Phase One. They're pretty quick to respond. Good luck!0 -
Thank you so much for the great advice! I'll certainly try them out! It may take me a day or two to be able to approach it again without wanting to take a sledge hammer and.... 😊
Let's just say, it's been a bit frustrating getting all the components up and running! I am determined though!
Again, I really appreciate the help!0
