Exported Images Show Highlight Areas
Hello everyone,
I feel like this is something extremely simple that I am missing but please hear me out. I did a Google search and looked at the forums but couldn't find anything. I am brand new to CO.
Whenever I export images as Jpegs (export images > variants) they export with the highlight and shadow areas still highlighted.
I have attached an image showing what I mean.

I do not see that in you image. What I do see though, are blown out areas in the sky showing as white areas near clouds.
You should probably set C1's exposure warning indicators to suitable colors. I believe the default colors are red for highlights and blue for shadows. Edit->Preferences->Exposure, see https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ns9brF42hFk . If you have chosen white color for blown highlight warnings, those warnings may possibly be confused as carried over during export when the final image also shows blown out areas, as they will display as white. Thus, white or a near white color is probably a bad choice for blown highlight warnings.
Try red/blue as exposure warning colors as shown in the video, then export your image to jpeg and check again.0 -
Thank you for your reply!
I checked the settings and the highlights/shadows are set as red/blue. It seems that the images that I export have different settings to what I see in CO (before exporting).
For example, this is what the image looks like in CO:

And then when I export that exact image (no edits at all from the above image):

I'm not sure how easy it is to tell, but the first image has much brighter shadows than the (same edit) exported image.
The green roof in the bottom of the image (in the centre) is also very weird in the exported image - the light reflections are just wrong.
I am using JPEG sRGB and exporting as SRGB.
I just came from Lightroom but have never had any issues with exporting...
Thanks again!0 -

I can't tell from your screen shot of the image in C1. Activate the exposure warnings in C1 (the triangle icon) and look for blown out areas shown in solid red color and blocked shadows shown in solid blue blue color. Tweak adjustments to make those areas smaller (or disappear) and export again.0
