I'd be surprised if a sequence of characters would work.
ctrl / shift / alt + char is okay but you're trying to type a "word" (more than 1 character)

Did this work in LR??? 😉

    Why not simply use Alt-F4?

WPNL - I had a "duh" moment. I was looking at the shortcut list and just realized that you are correct. I can only use one character with a Cntl or a combination of Cntl+Alt or Cntl+Shift, etc. I was seeing the '+' signs but not what was around them.

Class A - thanks for the advice. I don't recall seeing Alt+F4 in the shortcut list representing Quit. In fact, when I went to create the Cntl+Q shortcut I don't recall anything being listed for Quit. Not saying it wasn't there but now my shortcut list indicates Quit is driven by Cntl+Q.

Incidentally, I was wanting to create a Cntl+B+U for backing up the system when I didn't want to quit. As Cntl+B is already taken by hide/unhide browser I opted for Cntl+U.

    It's all good.

Thank you both for the help!

Using Windows 7 Alt F then C will "Close the Window" using the Windows approach to shortcuts via the menu system. I assume Win 10 would have similar options.

If you only have one "Window" open - one session or one catalogue - that will be enough to close the application. C1 will close fully after performing any instructions related to closing - e.g. catalogue backups for example. Using a similar approach you could shut down C1 via a windows command

As suggested above, Alt-F4 is standard Windows "Close the Application that currently has focus". Not one I use often however.

I recently purchased C1 11 for Windows. I did a search on keyword shortcuts and did not see an answer to my question.

Coming from Lightroom I set up a keyboard shortcut to quit the program (Cnti+Q) just like LR.

What I am trying to do is create another shortcut using Cntl plus two letters, e.g. Cntl+A+B. I cannot figure out how to get it to accept the two letters. Anyone know how I can get it to accept the combination?

    Thanks in advance!

Ctrl/Cmd+Q is the mac keyboard shortcut for closing an application. On Windows, the equivalent is, as others mentioned, Alt+F4, given you are focused on the main window of the application.
