Skin Tones Not Working as Expected ?
I recently watched one of the Capture One Webinars where I was shown how to use the brush to select a persons skin and then to go to the Skin tone tab within Colour Editor to even out the skin tone.
I followed the example give exactly but now fing that although I am still on the layer for the persons skin all of the image is being changed.
I'm very confused as I have wathed the video several times and followed the steps exactly.
Might you be able to throw some light on what might be going wrong?
I'm using the latest version of Capture One - 9.1.1
Thanks... 😊

Richard, assuming you have painted a mask in the layer ....
.... my guess is that you may be accessing the colour editor from the colour tools tab rather than the local adjustments tab and so the colour editor is NOT auto activated for the selected layer - but it is active for the Background.
Does your active colour editor tool have the little paintbrush symbol next to the name?

Grant,
Yes, that would be the answer.
I was attempting to adjust the skin tones through the colour tools tab.
Everything is obvious once you know the truth eh? 😊
Thank you so much once again for your very valued help, it's very much appreciated.

Richard,
You are very welcome. Glad to be of help. It's an easy thing to miss or forget in the excitement of image adjustment.
You can activate the tool from outside the Local Adjustment tab grouping by clicking on the three dots top left of the tool window and then activating it for the selected layer. You probably remember this.
Interestingly one could have more than one occurrence of the tool open and have the ability to adjust background and a selected layer at the same time. I'm not sure how much realistic use that might offer for skin tone adjustment but using the tool for selecting other parts of the colour range may have a wider application.
