MP showing DNGs on WIN
We have following workflow:
photographing bw negatives with NikonD3x, automatic import as a DNG with LR3 with a LR-preset, that converts the neg into pos via curves (it´s possible in LR3) and makes neutral gray. After this the whole description of IPTC-data and other workarounds in archiving we do in MP because its more intuitive there. On MAC the viewing of the DNGs (with the converted Negs) is no problem, on WIN7 we only see the raw jpeg-prewiew from the RAW-file. The old ivmp 3.1 version on WIN7 displays the converted view. We have to continue working with WIN, so, how can I get our MP on WIN7 to display the previews of the convertet DNGs?
Thanks a lot.

Hi
http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/ ... rm=Windows
And change media rendering to Windows Image Component.0 -
Hi Ulf,
thank you, it works, but:
when I hook in the checkbox for rendering with the embedded jpeg preview, the previews remain small (240x240px) in every way of view in MP, they can´t be rendered in higher qualities. When I check out rendering with the embedded jpeg previews, MP runs extremly slow and unstable while importing the files. Importing and viewieng of 10 DNG´s MP needs minutes, switching to the next file in the media view MP needs up to a minute to render the image. O.K., the advantage is, that the whole file can be shown. In the old iView version on WIN7 importing an showing of the same RAW files is done within seconds, biggest preview is 1024px max., but o.k. for realizing the picture for description. On my old 1.8GHz MacBookPro with MediaPro 1.4, importing and viewing runs within seconds, even switching between the files runs without any delay (1024px max. view).
To work with hundreds or thousands of files per job, MP on WIN7 doesn´t work. Because of our best experiences with iView MP (since 2004 on MAC´s) we bought 5 licenses of MP 1.4 for our new Windows machines (Lenovo Workstations with 12GB RAM). I hope there will be a way to get MP running fast on Windows as expected for a professional program on new machines, otherwise the money for the licences is for the garbage.
In hope for good news, thanks a very lot

I found the Adobe codec less than useless with MP, if you can spare $14.99 I suggest this for MP to work as EM used to.

Hello Paul,
thank you very much. That´s the tool that brings WIN to run MP like we´re used to. This shows again: Mac is a working tool, WIN is a tinker toy 😉
