Artifacts in adjustment layer from spot removal

Using Capture One 8.0, build 433 Mac OS X.

When I use spot removal (type:spot) to remove skin blemishes, and apply an adjustment layer (color balance/exposure), I get square artifacts in the image. It's definitely not due to brushing errors in the adjustment layer, and related to the spot removal.

Note the light purple squares that correspond to the placement of the spot removal spots. These light purple squares are very hard to see when the image is viewed fit to window. It was only after I had examined the processed (and posted) JPGs at full 100% magnification that they became apparent. Checking all my already processed images will take a lot of time.

Difficult to tell for certain on screen from the jpgs but the patches look like they might almost be areas where a skin tone adjustment has not applied well for what ever reason. Does the patch match the original source image skin tone?

I would strongly recommend creating a Support case if you have not already done so so that the problem can be researched at the earliest opportunity.

Meanwhile similar sort of anomalies of processing (not just for spot correction) have been reported in V7 times and were often associated with OpenCL/GPUs/Drivers so if you have not already tested results with OpenCL switched off (assuming it has been on!) you might get some benefit from doing so. I have no idea if it will be helpful but given the work you seem to face (and that it may not be clear what the problem is anyway) checking the settings has to be a few minutes well spent.
