It isn't you. The XP vs. OS X versions of Capture One have different feature sets. There are also some features in the Windows version that are not in the Mac.

It seems that both applications forked some time in the past from a common ancestry. Over time each version "grew" features that were either requested by an individual user base, or perhaps were just easy to implement in one code base vs. the other. What ever the reasons both do have some slightly unique features while the core is still the same.

This is another tick-mark for 4.0. To resynchronize the feature sets between the platforms; to bring the Mac specific features to Windows and vice-versa.

Edit, additional: The Windows version only has Tagged (Ctrl-T) vs. Untagged (Ctrl-U). No more descriptive than that.

Edit, edit: Wrong key. I typed "Alt" where I meant "Ctrl" the first time.

I've never used Adobe's Bridge and the Mac version of Capture One only briefly. But I agree that something more than tagged/not-tagged is needed.

I'm not sure what 4.0 is going to bring. But I'd say wait for the dust to settle on that release and if it doesn't suit your vision of how tagging should work, then file a feature request.

I'm personally hoping that there is a more powerful asset management system built into the new version. Something that supports arbitrary keyword tagging and searching.

    Hey

The Alpha version we have of CO 4.0 does have the star rating which has more or less become the industry standard.
