Newbie questions
Just getting started with C1. I've noticed that when I preview an image, the histogram seems to indicate the highlights holding detail. But when I process, the image will have pixels at 255. Not sure how to deal with this.
What is the preferred way to deal with color. Use the slider, use the wheel?
I'm unclear as to when to use standard vs soft sharpening mode, or have it disabled and use Photokit. Suggestions?
If I've played a bunch with the image in the preview window, then process it, and open it again and play with it some more, how do I get back to the formula I used to process the image the first time?

allen,
Does this mean you have an image that does not have true white in it? Or do you print on a printer that loses detail beyond a set value?
Start with a good White Balance and Exposure. A great feature is the Exposure Warning, which can help you keep values within limits.

Sliders or Wheel is your choice. Get used to the tools and get good results.
Soft sharpening is often used for close-up portraits since it tends to hide skin blemishes, similar to the Soft Focus lens Filter.
You can reset all image adjustment setting and start fresh with unadjusted RAW file. If you've made adjustments you want to keep, you can archive the settings data. See Knowledge Base article #1424
