Batch product photography / file naming
I'm a product photographer and clients often request custom file naming instead of DSC3280 etc.
I was wondering about using a barcodescanner to quickly tag the products I photograph but wonder how this could best fit into my workflow.
Right now, I place the product and take a few pictures. I color label the keepers and name them product-1, product-2, product-3 etc. After the shoot I filter by color and move them to my Selects folder and start editing in LR.
What I would like:
1. scan barcode of product
2. take pictures which will be automatically named barcode-1, barcode-2, barcode-3 etc
3. tag the keepers.
Or:
1. take pictures
2. tag the keepers
3. scan barcode and have C1 copy/paste it into the keepers' filenames as barcode-1, barcode-2, barcode-3
Is this possible?

You could do this via the Next Capture Naming tool. Set the naming to [Name] and then a counter. Select the name field within the Next Capture Naming tool and scan in with your barcode. If it is set up to be an input device, the field will be populated with the info in the barcode and the filenames will be updated going forward. 0
