Capture folder
When I start a session all photos are in capture folder. If I move one to select folder all the images disappear from the capture folder. Why??

The capture folder takes all the tethered shots as they
come. You may tag them, rate them, or move them to
the select folder.
Personally, I always work in sessions but never use the
select folder. I rather delete the unwanted files and they
go to the trash folder. In all cases, you'll have more chan-
ces to review you decisions until you made your mind up.0 -
Thanks Nikon Shooter. So if I want to use the select folder, should I move all the selected from Capture at once rather than one at a time?

If you move them all, it's you want to keep them all.
You should create a folder in your archive to receive
everything and keep the Capture folder empty.0 -
Paul,
I think many people just tag images with star ratings and colours rather than using the Selects folder but for a studion shoot it may have value for the client's selection.
You don't have to use it. Indeed "It is not necessarily an It" at all. The "Selects" function can be pointed at any folder you wish to use.

Thanks SFA. I’m learning.
