Poor color rendition when importing Fuji files

Trying to understand, you import RAF files from your Fuji X-T3 and you use film simulations in the camera or like to apply them in Capture One.

You are not satisfied with the color but it is not clear what the issue is. Could you elaborate on the color issue?

Sure and thank you for responding. When I import my RAF files I have the ICC profile set to Fujifilm XT3 Generic and the Curve to Auto. When the files come in they're usually Provia or Pro Neg Hi. But either way I have to play with the colors and curves to get a decent result. Specifically in the red spectrum. The reds go into the magenta or purple and get clipped far before any other color. But when I set the curve to linear response and then set auto adjust white balance. The magenta is neutralized and the reds are brought back to real life. The problem is that The film simulation settings are basically all defunct.

The film simulations are a kind of 'processed look', like JPEGs that were processed in the camera. The Linear Response curve is completely the opposite.

Although I do not have a Fuji and therefore no experience with the film simulations, I frequently use the Linear Response curve for the reasons you mentioned. There is so little amplification of any color with this curve, that you have total self control.

Once you discover the Linear Response curve, and it fits into your workflow, any pre-coocked profile or simulation is not that interesting anymore. It is for a different kind of user, not for you, apparently.

Well, fair enough. I suppose I had high hopes for help with my workflow. The nature of my question was why the film simulations where adding so much magenta and if it was something I was doing wrong... But thank you for your help
