Correcting lens optical distortion while developing raw vs when editing a tiff file
I would like to know which are the advantages regarding the final quality one can get for an image if correcting the optical distortion (just the optical distortion) of a lens used, while processing the raw file, in comparison than if done after exporting to a 16 bits tiff file. What would the shortcoming be if the correction is done to the tiff file ones processed the raw file.
There are some lenses which are not covered by Capture One (no profile for them). I want to know how much do I loose in the resulting image quality when the optical correction is done after processing the raw file with for example a program as PTLens (that can work with 16 bits tiff files) that might have the profile for the particular lens.
