Embed/Write metadata to JPEG
All,
Appreciate your help, as I'm working on organizing some older (primarily) JPEG files.
I use CO over the past years to process my RAW files, and include all relevant metadata (color labels, rating, keywords, IPTC, etc) in the final step. The originals (RAW + XMP) are archived on my NAS and a JPEG is exported (incl. metadata) for "daily" use.
As mentioned I have some older photos in JPEG and want to organize them in a similar way, with the exception that I want to include the metadata in the JPEG original in case no adjustments are made. I noticed that CO is storing the metadata in XMP also for JPEG, and only can embed when exporting. Am I wrong, or is their an option to do this.
Just to be clear - as I was reading some older postings - it is not related to RAW and I don't want to export, not effecting any quality by re-processing them again...
Any help is welcome!
Thanks, Marco

Capture One applies the same principle to both raw and jpg files - it never alters the original file. So that means you can't write metadata to it.

Thanks Ian, for your prompt response. Was afraid that was the case. And BTW I fully get in case of RAW, but hoped for JPEG you had an option!?
I like the toolset in CO to manage the metadata, and I became quite fast with it. Which I couldn't find in others so far. Is their another tool who can read the XMP created by CO for JPEG and embed/write the metadata?
Thx, Marco
