Does CO 14.2 work with Big Sur 11.4?
I know CO SAYS 14.2 works on Mac OS up to 11.3.1, but has anyone try it on MacOS 11.4? I shoot tethered with Sony cameras- mainly A7r IV and A7r II.
As of now I'm on 11.2.3
And here is where I vent my frustration, not important to question:
I've been waiting to update my OS because Capture One drags their feet on updates... so frustrating. They are so bad about keeping their software up to date with the current OS. Personally I prefer to keep my OS up to date. I have never had any issues with my computers/phones/tablets from doing so (beside with Capture One not keeping up) and I am almost always updating my OS the day it comes out (unless I have to wait for CO). I really dislike how CO has decided to act like we are incorrect in wanting to keep our OS up to date. IS MY GRANDPA WRITING THE CODE TO THIS PROGRAM OR WHAT??? I mean, props to you, grandpa, for creating such a robust software that is perfectly tuned to my RAW files, but, like, maybe try to type it out with more than your index finger. Love, your grandson Andrew

Yes. I upgraded to Capture One 14.2 and then to MacOS 11.4.This is on an Intel-based iMac Pro with a Capture One catalog with over 60K images. Speed is improved (e.g., <5 sec to view All Images) and I have no lags when moving sliders. Importing works as expected. I have tried the basic functions, but have not processed or printed any images, yet.
Do not expect Metal hardware acceleration on the Intel-based Macs. The preferences no longer refer to it, but hardware acceleration is still Open CL. There is a lot of discussion on this issue on the Forum.
Capture One always lags behind in endorsing a new OS update, but I have not had problems in updating the OS before Capture One gets around to endorsing it. How and when they decide to give a formal endorsement is a mystery.

Works for on my 2019 iMac, too. However, I have not had the need to try tethering yet.

It does on my iMac (Retina 5K, 27-inch, Late 2014).

Thanks everyone for the replies. I just updated and can confirm that shooting a Sony A7r IV tethered via usb-c into Capture One 14.2 works on my i9 16 inch MacBook Pro running Mac OS 11.4

I just lost 97% percent of my images, especially in 'older' catalogues (recent months) after an update to Big Sur 11.4 (2017 Mac). "The selected image is either unavailable, in an unsupported format or corrupted". Capture One 14.2 (for Nikon). Tried everything, nothing worked.
I just lost all finished files for a big job and missed a deadline because of it. I wasn't even aware that there could be an issue after updating to Big Sur 11.4 - does Capture One send out warnings to Mac users? (Did I miss something?)
I feel like I'm stuck in a nightmare right now, probably will never ever go near using Capture One again. Only started by the beginning of this year - does anyone here have experience on how long it could take for them to fix the issue? (I'm struggling to understand how you can sell a program 'for Mac' and ... 'poof!' after a software update with no prior warning you are left with a heap of useless data. No apology, no refund - - - and no customer service (no reply anyway).

The issue is most likely something specific to your computer and/or operating environment and not something that Capture One can fix. There are plenty of people using Capture One on 11.4 without issue. I could be wrong.
Some questions: Are your catalogs on the internal drive or an external drive? Are your images referenced or inside the catalog? If the images are referenced are they stored on the same drive as the catalog? If the images or catalog are on a removable volume does Capture One have permissions to access removable volumes?

The catalogues are on the internal drive / images inside the catalogue. Some catalogues show one or two images intact - as for the rest of the images in the same catalogue it states: image is either unavailable / in an unsupported format or corrupted. One catalogue has all of the images marked as 'offline' (and all attempts at fixing it failed). Seems to be random. Only one of the more recently added catalogues has survived and all images are intact.

With originals in the catalog I would open one of the catalogs with missing images in Finder -- right click on the .cocatalog file and select show package contents -- and take a look at the contents of the Originals folder. Are the images really missing or are they there and corrupted? If the image are there and Finder can show a preview or if you can open them with Preview then the issue might be a corrupted capture one database.
Either way I'd probably re-load the catalog from a backup. Might need to try a couple of backups to find one that isn't corrupted.
Also, have you tried File -> Verify Catalog or Session
