Capture One Express Fuji and Mylio
I just switched to a Fuji mirrorless and have started to shoot RAW+JPG. Most of the time I'm happy with the JPGs from the camera. But every now and then I want to edit the RAW file. But when I select a photo and choose Open With, the files selected in Mylio is sent one by one to CaptureOne, having the Import dialog in C1 open multiple times.
- Is the problem with multiple dialogs because of Mylio or C1?
- Mylio stores all metadata in XMP sidecar files. Would it be possible to just open the root folder for my Mylio library in C1? That would remove the need for the Open With step all together.
Any suggestions on a smooth workflow between Mylio and C1 are welcome!

Question: do you plan to use C1 as a Catalog? My advice is not to.
I've done some messing around with Mylio and C1 and if you plan on using Mylio as your catalog (and C1 as an external editor), then you probably do NOT want to use C1 in "Catalog" mode, but rather use it in "Session" mode.
Try creating a new Session in C1 called "edit Mylio" or whatever you want. Open that session, and leave it open.
Then in Mylio , take a single image to start and do an "open with" in C1 ... and C1 should open that photo in the "edit Mylio" C1 Session created above WITHOUT bothering you with the import dialog. (the beauty of Sessions!)
When done editing, you'll need to run a C1 Process Recipe to export a JPG or TIFF back to the Mylio directory. I believe you will have to manually select the Mylio image directory where this all started. Mylio should auto-recognize the new file C1 dropped into that directory and show it on the screen.
You may want to do some sort of tagging or whatever to indicate that the image went to C1 and back. Up to you.

Excellent! I want to continue to use Mylio as my DAM, with C1 as an external editor. What you suggest seems to be what I was looking for – now I only have to find out how to trial C1 Pro with C1 Express Fuji already on my computer. :)
Thanks!

I've now the trial of C1 Pro up and running. What you suggested seems to work as I wanted. And even a bit better, since C1 recognize the XMPs generated by Mylio, which makes it possible to filter by rating and labels within C1 as well. Super nice! :)
One question though: When creating a Session, C1 adds it's own CaptureOne folder within my Mylio folders. Can that cause any trouble with Mylio and/or C1?

I haven't tried this in over a year, but C1 creates a \CaptureOne folder with, I think, 2 folders beneath it (\cache and \settings### )... they files that contain the edit instructions and previews. I'm not sure you can avoid this.
The good news is that if you go back to edit one of those raws a second time, C1 will have all the previous edits and pick up where it left off.
I don't believe Mylio cares... it just sees folders that do NOT contain images (the cache and the edit .cos files). It would be nice if you could teach Mylio to just skip over all \CaptureOne folders.
