Import error
Hi.
I have had this problem for some time now, maybe around three months. When importing images from sd card to my Macbook air with M1 chip with a card reader, sometimes a few images download, sometimes a bit more and sometimes everything on the card is downloaded. The following message shows:
"An error occurred while importing the image files. Check the Events log for details."
Event log shows date and time and "Could not copy file to import destination. File was not imported."
Can anyone help me?

Iʻm having the same problem. Iʻve tried three different card readers and three different USB ports. I have no trouble creating my Sessions, but when I stick the card into the reader, no images populate. I curse the day I updated my Mac OS to Big Sur. My Capture One 20 (and all of the versions before - Iʻve been using this software for almost 20 years) worked fine with the previous version I had installed. Iʻve had just the most perfunctory and unhelpful response from Support. Their answer was that the software is meant to be used weathered with images directly imported from the camera. Well, I only rarely shoot tethered and almost always shooting to a card. The jobs are piling up, undelivered and Iʻm getting angry.

I suspect this will not be of much help to you but as a Windows user I have used various card reader over the years and not experienced any problems using Win 7 or Win 10.
I understand that Apple have been "moving forward" with their connectivity and have deprecated several older standards.
Have you already checked for any card reader compatibility issues that might have some bearing on the problems you have with your reader and Big Sur? It would probably be good to eliminate any potential issues there if the information is available to you.

Well, I have three different card readers. I tried about ten combinations with the different readers and different USB ports on both my desktop iMac and an external USB port. None of them have ever given me problems before, so that seems to point to some sort of incompatibility between OS and Capture One 20. Before I updated my OS, I had no problems at all with Capture One 20.
Update!: Why no one at Support would just come right out and say it - turns out OS 11.4 is NOT COMPATIBLE with Capture ONE 20, soooo in order to get back to work, I purchased the Capture One subscription and downloaded Capture One 21. Weʻll see if this fixes the problem. If not, I will be mightily pissed off.
