Catalog Collections All Images are higher than shown in the number shown at the top of the Browser
All my images are imported - Copy into Catalog
Keywords applied
User collections exist of family members
My Master Catalog > All images “identify as being” 9349 > click on the button to highlight and activate results in
Number in browser identifies 9277 images – 72 images less
User Collections > All images “identify as being” 8948 > click on the button to highlight and activate results in
Number in browser identifies 8886 images – 62 images less.
What plausible causes are there to create this anomaly and are there ways in which the missing images can be located.
Under Filters there are no images identified as NOT having a keyword applied.
However, on clicking the Filters > Rating and Colour Tag, buttons both give a figure equating to the Catalog Collections > all images of 9349 which is correct.
The browser number however gives a number of 9309 40 less. This is 22 lower to that identified when Catalog Collections > all images are highlighted.
One thought came to mind but does not completely explain the anomaly. Does the figure identified at the top of the Browser exclude duplicates whereas elsewhere all images regardless if they are duplicates or anything else are included.
Thank you for your help.

Try menu Image>Collapse all and Expand all and look the browser top. The difference between the expand and collapse is the number of additional variants, maybe this explains it?

Hi BeO
Thank you - you are spot on
Collapse all identified the reduced number and the Expand all brought it back to the number identified in the library
Mystery resolved thanks. mick
