Limite file size on jpegs
How can I limit the files size on my jpeg exports to 200kb? I can't figure out how to do this. I am coming from LR and in there I can just type it in on export window and all my photos are less than 200kb for web, and they look really nice on my website. I can't find that on C1, anyone can tell me how? You would think this is something they could easily add but I don't see it, and this helps my website load way faster since it doesn't have to load a 1mb per photo

Not possible. You need to set the scale and quality and do an actual export to see the file size. The export summary shows an estimation of the file size.

This is a feature C1 team should work on and it seems like it would be easy to learn it from LR. I guess I will have to stick to LR since this is a feature I use every day on all my posts for websites.

I have suggested this to the C1 team in the past without success.
All my processing is done in C1, except I open my images in Photoshop to make a 2meg jpeg file.
There are many industries who could us this feature, especially realestate.

The only thing Lr does is change the jpg compresson of each image. You have to set the dimensions anyway, so choose one that fits your quality expectation, eg 50%. Does it really matter if the file size is 178 or 211?

Kassur, I use LR, I put the dimensions on W2000xH1500, and limit file size to 200kb. and it works for me and website I work for clients. I will give C1 a shot and I am actually liking C1 but this is a big feature for me, I don't want to use other plugins online to do something LR can already do for me. I will try and figure out if there is a way in C1 that would work consistently.

Pablo, unfortunately thereisn't. But with some practice, you'll be able to choose the JPEG compression for such or such image which will fit about the file size you need for the requested pixel size. This feature has been asked many times, but without any success....

Fifteen years ago I might have agreed that this would be useful, but I struggle to believe that anyone would struggle to open a 200kb image on a website these days.
As such, it strikes me as being a pointless "enhancement" - any arbitrary (and extremely small, in this case) limit on jpeg compression is really only a guarantee of disappointing image quality.
If it was that important to the website host, there's little to stop them from adding a php script that would automatically crunch any file down to whatever arbitrary size/resolution limit they feel they need to present.
It really shouldn't be the photographer's job. Not in 2022.

Hi Keith,
I guess Pablo was thinking about posting images on forums, for instance, as many of them ask for limited size pictures. At least some I participate in do.
Regarding my "Many times...", I don't have time to go deep into the requests, unfortunately. But I remember it was a subject discussed within the C1 community several times. As I was interested in it, I had a look at this time.
