Capture One 22 won't play GoPro 10 movies
I just upgraded from capture one 20 to 22 with the hope that playing Gopro videos in capture one would work. It does not. Anyone have any way to get it to work? It won't open them at all.

Which application is registered in your Windows system as being the default for playing the GoPro videos?
As far as I am aware C1 has never included its own video playing code but will allow video to be opened using whichever utility has been registered to play the specified file type.

I had VLC as the default player which can play anything. I did change the defaults as you suggested. I tried windows media player and another player but it still pops up as can't play video. Basically the gopro is using h.265 or HEVC which I though capture one 21 and up supported. My other videos use h.264 which will work. I hope capture one looks into this because I am sure the newer sony cameras will have h.265 in the future. I just looked and the Sony A7 IV already does h.265 so those videos wouldn't be playable on Capture One which is so annoying.

I bought the license for windows media player and changed the default app and now it is working!
