Upgraded from Fujifilm version of Capture One to Free full version… now system is painfully slow

I upgraded from Fuji version of Capture One to full version and performance has taken a massive dive.  I run a IMac M chip computer only a couple of months old.  I move a slider and it takes a few seconds to adjust image.  Anyone else having similar issues?
