Edits and pictures gone from the collection library and external drive
Hi everyone,
I'm quite new to editing and organizing my pictures with a professional program such as Capture One. My workflow looks like this: I download the RAW files to an external drive with folders an subfolders and add them to the collection library which has the exact same file structure. I recently moved one the folders in the external drive and all the edits and the images in the collection were gone. I synchronized the folder but the edits are gone in the external drive and the pictures are still missing in the collection... Do you know how can I get the edits back?
I've been thinking of opening the last back up but I'm to afraid of making a "bigger" mess..
Thanks for your help!

How did you move the files to your external drive? If you did it from Finder instead of Capture One, then Capture One will lose its association of edits with the files. It sounds like this is your scenario:
1. In Finder, move the files to the external drive. Now Capture One doesn't know anything about the files.
2. Synchronize in Capture One. Now Capture One knows about the files, but can't connect the original adjustments with the new files. Further, if you had deleted the original files, Capture One should show "File Missing" and give you the option to Locate it. Locating using the external location will reconnect the adjustments with the appropriate image.
The right way would be to move the files within Capture One:
1. Connect the external drive and have Capture One create a folder on it with whatever name you want.
2. In Capture One, select the files you want to move and drag them to the new folder.
Result: the files will be gone from the original folder and are now located on your external drive, and Capture One shows all adjustments as they were before.
