Updating from 15.4 to 16.01

Do I have to uninstall all the old folders  and files after deactivating and uninstalling
my old 15.4 version before installing the new version 16.0??
Can you give me an instruction to do so?

  No, you can just install the new version. It should work with the existing catalogs and sessions, though it will want to upgrade them to version 23 (16.01). There is no need to be wary about that - it will back up the old version of the session or catalog. 

  You could reasonably hold off uninstalling the older version until you are happy that all is well with the new one.
