Remove the Storage Cards and then the cameras only option is tethered. This should solve the problem entirely.

Sounds like a permissions issue.Are you on an Admin Account? Activating locally or on a Networked Account?

It should work with 10.6.8 but if their is a major issue in operation, I am afraid their is nothing we can do to amend the operation of the 4+ year old software
