Update: I removed V 9.1.2 and tried V 9.1 - same problem.And now I can't launch version 8 either, it crashes and quits immediately on launch.

Can I add to this conversation that the problem also occurs with the GTX970 card in a Mac with C1 9 and OS X El Capitan - see my thread here:viewtopic.php?f=61&t=23899So hopefully a fix for the 980...

Thank you, yes I found that thread and it seems this is my problem - I am using a Mac with a GeForce GTX970 card by EVGA - it's sold for Windows computers but there are official NVidia Mac drivers ...
