Sorry I should have said this is on a Pentium IV with 2 gig of Ram, Windows XP SP 2. 3.7.7 works like a dream, both beta 1 and 2 worked but this version, though it loads and appears to be runnign fine, crashes and burns as soon as I try to work on an image.

I did try to create a support case but couldn't seem to find a category for "software refuses to function" ☹️

Disappointment seems to be the word of the day. I'm also puzzled by the activations number shown. Before I installed v4.0 I had 2 activations and one free upgrade remianing. Now I have zero actications and zero free upgrades left.

I have the same issue and when I tried to create a support case I got en error message from the website telling me a case can't be created and webmaster has been notified.

it's not good is it, when you post on here they direct you to support, and when yu try to create a ticket on support it rejects your efforts. Seems like they really aren't too keen to hear about problems. The cache folders scattered all over your hard drive are driving me crazy too. I'm going to uninstall it and wait to see if they come up with fixes for these issues, otherwise I may have to go and get Lightroom instead ☹️

Lightroom isn't any solution for me, I rather stick with 3.7.7 Pro but I was waiting to get some real enhancements with version 4. I just hope this incident doesn't have any effect to my updates in the future.

    The Support System is functioning.

The Server has been working triple-time with high volume of downloads the last few days.
Do Create a Support Case, and if it errors, try again.
    * suggest if your Case is lengthy, to write it onto a word document so if the case fails to create/upload, you won't lose your writing.*

    Technical Support Site: http://support.phaseone.com

CaptureOne working folder is only created when you select/browse a folder.
Only work with RAW folders and that is the Only place they'll be created.
    Select many folders = scatter

I had this same problem after installing over the beta. I uninstalled the program, cleaned out the leftover keys in the registry, and Deleted all of the Phase One and Capture One directories (there were a lot). After reinstalling (it remembered the key), everything worked as expected.

phugger, thanks for bring this up....the ReadMe file says to uninstall any V4 beta before installing V4...but we know that most folks don't read ReadMe's. While V4 can coexist with 3.7...it really doesn't like the beta. Good to know you can uninstall after doing this with no problems....

thanks, I'll try this, the beta was removed ages ago (as it was so inferior to 3.7.7) but I'll try clearing out the registry. Tech support's only suggestion has been that it can only be installed on the C drive rather than any other installed drives.
