    Pablo,

In order for us to get to the bottom of your issues, please create a support case at support.phaseone.com.

Please give us a full description of your hardware setup, where the program has been installed to, and a full description of what happened

I'm really sorry. It doesn't work. It simply doesn't open on double click on the icon. No crash message, simply nothing. 😭 😭 😭

Same problem here on my AMD XP Athlon 2400+ machine and Asus A7V8X Board (win XP home). Beta1 and Beta2 didn't launch either. I had reported the issue here and to the German support as well. They said it will be fixed but nothing happened. After waiting for months for a solution, I'm tired now . I created a support case today but if they cannot get C4 to work pretty soon now, I will give up and switch to LR or DPP. Pretty sad for me as a longtime loyal C1pro user.

Same problem here, I have created a support case and the problem is the same as Pablo's.

I have to agree with Pablo, It is just very disappointing that this program can not work on my Pentium IV

    Same here.
I don't even know what the interface looks like. Beta's didn't work, so I waited, now the distributed version won't start either. What a shame.

    Jon,

Can you explain to all us disappointed users why we were ignored throughout the beta? The complaints have been very consistent throughout yet they seem to have fallen on deaf years. And its not like it was a huge list; maybe 5 – 10 items.

PO seems to have forgotten its current customer base. Why?

Please explain before we all start moving to other conversion software.

    Thanks

more or less the same here...the beta would start, I could work with it, next time it crashed. I deinstalled before installing the final release. got even as far as the activiation screen, entered key, found profile, got message "your software (or whatever) was activeted" - then - nothing. since then - deinstall, reinstall, always the same - for a short while the small window appears - then nothing.

XP SP2, Pentium M 1,7, 1024 RAM, enough room on the HD 😉

    Same for me!

The betas would crash on opening. I reported it 3 times.

Really disappointing as I've been waiting for the 40D support and here it is and I can't use it!

For those who still got the problem, do you have a matrox? If so, are you using their PowerDesk application and having the "automatically remember windows size/position" setting checked? I've seen some application crashing because of that one...

    Hi

We can confirm that a checked "automatically remember windows size/position" via the Matrox Powerdesk software, can cause Capture One 4.0 not to start!

If you experience problems starting Capture One 4.0 and have a Matrox Parahelia video card, please uncheck the "automatically remember windows size/position" via your graphics card menu software.

Contact us via www.phaseone.com/support if you continue to have problems!

    Hi,

Indeed, I can confirm that C4.0 now lauches and runs properly on my AMD as well as on my IntelDualcore machine, after I had unchecked the "automatically remember windows size/position" in the Matrox Powerdesk software. BTW, I have a Matrox Parhelia 128 MB installed on my AMD and a Matrox Parhelia 256 MB on the IntelDualcore PC.

After I had created a support case, I had got a phone call from PO support before Christmas and have been in close communication with them about the issue since that time. I 'm happy to completely revise my original frustration on the support and can only say and pronounce that Lars and Laurent did their best to help me and sucessfully found the solution. Many thanks again !
Before the above mentioned solution of the problem was found , there was another step, which made C4 start properly, too : Copy the Capture One 4 folder which during the installation normally is placed as

    C:/Programs/Phase One/Capture One 4/

    to another position, such as

    C:/Capture One 4/

At least in my case, C4 worked as expected after that. Perhaps this can help others not using Matrox, too.

I've been a long time user of C1pro and I'm glad that I now can stay with PO. On the base of my tests they still offer the very best raw converter 😄 .

    Best

    Wolfgang
