Best way to migrate a large LR Database to Cap1?

I have a LR Classic database with over 20 years of well cataloged photography (1m+ files). I've made the switch to Cap1 for processing images and don't want to do double work. Often I need to do a search for something like "mountains" and it's helpful if I can access photos across the entire database. 

From here going forward, each shoot is a Cap1 session and it then goes into a master Cap1 catalog to database. Going backwards I'm looking at exporting each year as a LRcatalog and then importing each LRcatalog to a master Cap1 database... I'm worried that it will bog down. Is there a better way to achieve my goal in Cap1?

    Unfortunately C1 does not do a good job when it comes to importing from LR. You will lose many of your settings. But there is a program that supposedly does the transfer quite well. I have not tried it though. Here is the link: https://cyme.io/avalanche-for-capture-one/
