Add sliders or similar to improve ease of adjusting tone ranges in curve tool, especially shadows.

What problem do you see this solving?

Selecting specific tone ranges can be fiddly in capture One, especially shadows.  The HDR sliders are a different function which also add the appearance of local contrast, here I am referring to the curve tool adjustments to adjust tone only.

The difficulty is that Capture One only allows use of points on a curve.  This is excellent, but not quick.  One point on a curve affects another so fine tuning is not always quick.  Selecting specific tones towards the shadows or highlights can be difficult, especially shadows and blacks.

I request Capture One to add a feature similar to Lightroom's curve adjustments which are shown in four sliders beneath the curves tool.  These make tone curve adjustments quick and easy, they also have a feature that allows for the the range of each slider to be changed.  My feature request would be to add something similar, but possibly add two more adjustments. Instead of Highlights, Lights, Darks, Shadows, also add 'brightest highlights' & 'deepest shadows' for a total of 6 adjustments.  The point of the additional two sliders is to fine tune those end values more easily.  Fine tuning can be done in Lightroom by adjusting the slider range with the little triangles beneath the curves, I think either way would be fine.  But what isn't fine is fiddlyness of trying to make simple adjustments using points on a curve (and I love curves).

When was the last time you were affected by this lack of functionality, or specific tool?

Not a problem for every image, but I find that fine tuning dark values is generally a little tricky in Capture One compared to some other software.  FYI, I am adjusting raw files from Nikon and Fujifilm cameras.  The base tone curve has some affect on this too and none solve the problem.

Are you using any workarounds or other solutions to achieve your goals in Capture One?I

I might try different base tone curves to help make specific tone ranges more easily adjustable, but that's not always practical or possible.
