problem with TIF images?

New to C1 and hitting some issues that I've never experienced with any other software before.
When either editing images with another program (using TIF), or exporting TIF images, both 8 and 16 bits, I'm getting some really weird output. Half the images is black or glitched out in spots. That's right, spots. Not half an image in a clear line, just bits and pieces everywhere.
This is no matter if I open up the image with Preview, AP, PS, or even back to Capture ONE itself. Feels like there is a problem in the exporting process. The thumbnail looks alright, but imagine it's got nothing to do with it.
Does anyone else experience what I've described? Not sure how to upload a screenshot.

Have you tried turning off hardware acceleration to see whether that makes a difference?
