Exporting collection as a catalog while images are offline?
I am trying to export a catalog from a collection of images that are currently offline but it appears the images need to be online for the images to be exported in the catalog
A little background on what I am trying to achieve. I often work on the road and don't travel with all of my original images as it just isn't practical for me to be carrying around 10tb of data. So I setup a home server that I have remote access via VPN and remote desktop that I use to deliver images to clients. When I was using LR my process worked perfectly. When I received requests for stock submissions or images I would do a quick edit in my LR catalog (without the original images online) putting images into a collection. I would then export this collection as a catalog without the original files included in the export but the images were still referenced in the catalog. I'd then transfer this small catalog (<1mb) to my remote server and open it up via screen sharing and LR. The catalog would now find all of the original files and they would be online. I'd then export and upload via FTP but all of this was done remotely so I didn't need my local internet connection to be that fast (which is often the case in areas i travel) as all the uploading was done on my remote computer with a fast internet connection. I recently switched to C1 and am hoping to mimic the same procedure but it appears I need to have the original files online when I am exporting a catalog. I am hoping to find a workaround that allows me to use a similar workflow.
And I should note I am using mac os with Capture One 11.
Any thoughts?
