    Jason,

Firstly it is worth pointing out that this is primarily a User to User forum so any feedback you get here may not be entirely accurate in terms of technical response.

I have downloaded the file and see the same results that you see - I am running Windows 7 so it's not OS related.

I would suggest you create a Support Case in order to discuss things with the people who have access to the code.

    Meanwhile ...

In the Base Characteristics you need to change from Auto to Linear response.

C1 by default is set to try to help out by applying a Film Curve and in your case that is not helpful at all.

I would suggest that you create and save a Style for your infra-red shots that you can apply during import to save some time.

Secondly, looking at the Histogram, there is a clear difference between the blue channel response and the green and red channel responses.

By applying a Auto adjustment for levels and then fine tuning the levels channel by channel the image in C1 can be quickly brought to pretty much what you see in the jpg and what I can see in another processor. Using the light and dark samplers seem to be quite useful there.

These setting can then be be saved as a default for the camera if required but I will leave it up to you to decide whether the default approach is the best option for your needs.

I don't know the ins and outs of the technicality of shooting infra-red so I can't comment on that but it looks like something to discuss with the C1 Support people.

I'm not sure how to interpret the readings for WB and colour values. I have opened the file in three RAW converters and all three present their interpreted figures for the values differently and seemingly with different numbers.

I hope this helps in some way but I would certainly seek advice from the Support Team in preference to anything else.

    Grant,

Thanks for the insight - that helps, and I'm able to reach the desired result quickly.

I'll file a support case, and reply back for future reference.

    Thanks,
    Jason Sturges

    Hi Jason,

I'm glad you were able to make some progress.

One of the benefits of C1 is that even when you don't get quite what you want "out of the box" it is usually possible to get there quite quickly once an approach is developed and repeating it, via a preset/style, is easily possible.

Nevertheless the OOTB result did look strange.
