Severe Problem with viewing DNG files
I downloaded the recent demoversion of capture one to see if it better meets my needs than the tool i'm using at the moment (lightroom 2.5).
Now i'm running into the following problem:
With dng files that have not embedded the original raw file capture one seems to be working fine, i.e. opening the image folder in the navigation pane loads all of the existing images.
Other than that doing the same with dng files that have the original raw image embedded capture one seem not to be able to load all of the folder's images but stops after a random number of images, usually after about 10 or so. Also the reading speed is remarkably slower than with the dng files without embedded original.
Did anyone experience the same or similar problems? Are there any ways to solve this problem? (other than staying away from capture one and continuing dealing with the database crap of LR)??
Any help or suggestions are highly appreciated
thx in advance

I think you get best results with Capture One when you use the original raw files instead of converted-to-DNG files. This relates to image quality, maximum of adjustments options and probably performance as well as you explained. 0 -

I think this is not not a matter of image quality, adjustment options or performance - capture one doesn't seem to be capable to open a folder with the described files in it completely and correctly and to my mind this just seems to be a bug doesn't it?
Evaluating the program i will have to consider if the programm will be able to deal with the images i produced in the past too, and not only the future images i will produc (and which then will probably will be in the original raw format for the reasons you metioned....).
At the moment i dont get the point why a software like capture one should have problems with a workflow like the given (especially as it works with dng per se when orig-raw not embedded - hey what's the big difference other than filesize?)0
