brush disappear when drawing

When i use the brush tool or eraser when working with masks, the brush graphic disappear when I start to draw leaving me guessing where it is and where I draw. When I am lucky a normal arrow cursor is displayed.

Are there some trick to enable et when it goes missing?

  Check whether you have Auto Mask enabled.
