Watermark error message and processing crash

I keep getting the message "not enough memory to allocate the text watermark." This occurs when I am not attempting to use the watermark process. I have given up using C1 for watermarks because my program crashes when I attempt to process pictures for export, and there is no way to watermark except upon export.

What does the "not enough memory" message mean? How can I stop its popping up? Is there any way to watermark without processing? Is there any way to process without crashing the program?
