Teather Problems C1 5.0.1, new Intel imacs, and H25
I am having problem with our new imac 21s shooting tethered. We updated from Powermac G5s running Mac OS 10.4.11 and Capture One 3.7. We are now running Capture one 5.0.1, Mac OS 10.6. The cameras have not changed Mamiya RZ pro II cameras with motor winders and 2 H25s and a H20. The new imacs connect to the H25 with a 10ft FW 6 to 9 pin cable. I don't have any connection problems. In low power mode the back fires from the computer without any problems, but when fired from the camera I get a black image and the back blinks continuously until it is unplugged. Never had this problem before. In normal power mode I only get black images also.
This problem doesn't exist with the new Macbook Pros running 10.6 and C1 5x only on the Imacs. I have read about the firewire not supplying enough power from the Imac to power the back correctly. With this note I attached a powered Lacie FW 400 External drive as a go between to the back to supply a power boost... Same results.

John,
A Lacie Drive as a Power Hub won't cut it. These drives only supply what they need, which is enough to spin the drive, and that's it. The Power difference between your G5 and the new iMac is night and day. You'll need to purchase a Power Hub or Phase One Power Supply for the H units.
Although your MacBook hasn't shown the same issue, it will given enough time and rapid shoot speed.0
